The Position
Administers, coordinates, repairs, and maintains electronic equipment and software used for surveillance purposes. Serves as the technical expert for the Company on surveillance equipment, software, and technologies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Administers, coordinates, and maintains all CCTV equipment including cameras, network switches, DVRs, computers, and related hardware.
- Manages access control equipment such as keypads, card readers, controllers, and related hardware.
- Coordinates repairs and installations with subcontractors, ensuring value and quality.
- Configures and customizes CCTV and access control software for optimal operation and compliance with company standards.
- Performs troubleshooting, resolves hardware and software issues, and conducts root cause analysis for service interruptions.
- Trains team members and other staff on surveillance and access control systems.
- Stays current with technological advancements, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Evaluates new hardware and software to meet company needs and recommends suitable products.
- Performs backups of configurations and software, and performs other related duties as required.
What You Bring
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience with CCTV and security systems such as access control, IP cameras, and DVRs.
- Certifications like Avigilon, Honeywell, Synectics VMS are assets.
- Additional certifications such as Alarm and Security Technician, GPEB Gaming license, and vendor-specific certifications are preferred.
- Knowledge of networking, PC hardware, and security protocols.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively.
- Physical ability to inspect, repair, and work at heights, with a valid BC driver license and clean abstract.
- Willingness to work overtime and travel as required.
