The Position
Administers, coordinates, repairs and maintains electronic equipment and software used for surveillance purposes. Serves as the technical expert for the Company on surveillance equipment, software and technologies for the protection of Company assets, staff and guests, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Administers, coordinates and maintains all Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) equipment including cameras, Network switches, Digital Video Recorders (DVRs), computers and other hardware associated with the CCTV system.
- Administers, coordinates and maintains access control equipment including keypads, card readers, controllers, computers and other hardware associated with the access control system.
- Manages sub-contracted repairs and installations of systems and ensures value is obtained from sub-contractors.
- Configures CCTV software and customizes applications for efficient operation by Surveillance staff.
- Configures the access control system hardware and software and customizes software applications to fit the casino needs.
- Ensures the CCTV system and access control systems conform with BCLC requirements.
- Troubleshoots hardware and software issues pertaining to the surveillance network and provides resolutions.
- Trains Surveillance Team Members and other parties in the operation of CCTV and access control equipment.
- Adept in ensuring preventative maintenance is performed as prescribed and on time.
- Stays up-to-date with advancements in security technology, regulations, and industry best practices. Continuously improving technical skills through training and certifications
- Maintains an in depth, current knowledge of BCLC Standards, policies and procedures pertaining to the CCTV and access control systems.
- Evaluates new hardware and software to meet Company requirements.
- Consults with management and recommends security and surveillance products and technologies.
- Performs backup of electronic configuration files and software associated with the CCTV and access control systems.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Performance of high-level root cause analysis for service interruptions.
- Liaises with end users, vendors and technical teams on troubleshooting and issue resolution activities.
What You Bring
- Post secondary education in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience.
- 5 years' experience with Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and other security systems such as access control, IP CCTV camera, and Digital Video Recorders (DVRs).
- Avigilon, Honeywell, Synectics VMS certifications an asset.
- Alarm and Security Technician Certification an asset.
- Scissor lift certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a GPEB Gaming license.
- Vendor Certification in low-voltage systems.
- Proper hand and power tool operations and safety.
- Working knowledge of Lan/Wan Networking, user/group setup and LAN security setup.
- Working knowledge of PC hardware, peripherals, installations and repairs.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP Internetworking, routing and switch management.
- Working knowledge of Windows 7/10/11/XP, Microsoft Office /2010/2016/2019.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to take initiative.
- Proven ability to learn on the job and to stay current with new technology.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in user-friendly language.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to inspect and repair equipment on location.
- A valid BC driver license and clean abstract.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Manual dexterity to inspect and repair equipment.
- Physical inspection of equipment on location which may include climbing ladders.
- Ability to Lift or move up to 20kgs.
- Some overtime work to permit resolution of time sensitive requirements.
- Travel required – driving to sites in GVRD and occasional plane travel.
