Senior Surety Broker / Surety Client Executive

Located in Toronto, Calgary, or Vancouver, as a Senior Surety Broker or Surety Client Executive, you will specialize in marketing Surety accounts and managing key client relationships, focusing on the mining and construction industries. Your role involves structuring and securing reclamation bonds, performance bonds, and other Surety instruments.

This position emphasizes client service, including developing and maintaining long-term relationships based on trust, expertise, and reliable delivery. You will act as a strategic advisor, guiding clients through complex bonding requirements to meet their project and compliance goals.

Accountabilities:

• Market Surety Accounts, including Mining and Contractor businesses, with reclamation bonds
• Research and analyze client portfolios for compliance and financial health
• Lead and mentor junior brokers
• Identify prospective clients and target industries
• Assess credit requests and analyze financial information
• Prepare and present detailed reports to clients and management
• Manage monthly reporting to insurance captives
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, underwriters, and partners
• Develop tailored Surety solutions based on operational risks and market conditions
• Stay informed on regulatory changes affecting the mining and construction industries
• Assist with renewals and receivables management
• Coordinate with underwriters and legal teams for bond structuring

Ideal candidate requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
• 1-5 years of experience in Surety Bonds within mining and construction sectors
• Strong financial skills, proficiency in Excel, and experience analyzing financial statements
• Valid RIBO license or willingness to obtain
• Experience with reclamation or performance bonds in regulated industries
• Knowledge of credit risk assessment and financial underwriting
• Detail-oriented with multitasking abilities
