Job summary

CIMA+’s Rossland office is seeking aSenior Structural Technician to contribute to concrete and steel design across a range of projects. You will use CAD and REVIT, perform field measurements, and support multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust structural solutions.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering technology or technologist level.
  • 8+ years of experience in industrial structural design.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to client service and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Highly organized with flexible work approach.

Responsibilities

  • Produce preliminary and construction deliverables with the engineering team using CAD.
  • Perform field measurements at industrial sites.
  • Conduct structural inspections for industrial projects.
  • Design for concrete, steel, and other structures.
  • Estimate and prepare engineering proposals.
  • Ensure projects are on task, budget, and schedule.

An opportunity currently exists in our Rossland office for aSenior Structural Technician. The ideal candidate will be required to have a good understanding of concrete and steel design and will concurrently work on a range of projects of complexity, construction value and atdifferent stagesin the procurement cycle.

You will draw on your proactive and analyticalproblem solving skillsto deliverstructuralsolutions working under supervision and supporting larger interdisciplinary teams.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Use CAD software to produce preliminary and for construction deliverables with the engineering team
  • Knowledge of 3-D modeling, especially REVIT, an asset
  • Perform field measurements, in an industrial plant or outdoor sites
  • Conductstructural inspections for industrial projects
  • Designfor concrete, steel, and other industrial structures
  • Estimateand prepareengineering proposals
  • Ensureprojects are on task, on budget and on schedule
Qualifications
  • Civil Engineering Technician or Technologist Diploma.
  • 8+ years of experience in an industrial structural design capacity
  • Self-motivation and stronginterpersonal and communication skills(both written and verbal) along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks are essential.
  • The successful candidate should also demonstrate a commitment toclient servicethat is second to none.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
  • A proven passion for your profession and employ results driven practices.
  • Knowledge of Canadian codes and standards.
  • Integrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence
