Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Energy & Resources team, focusing on hydroelectric facilities and dam engineering. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary projects, coordinate technical work across disciplines, and travel to sites as needed.

The role offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement with two days in the office, based in Mississauga or Burlington, Canada.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Post Graduate degree is an asset.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in design, construction and project management of dams and hydroelectric projects.
  • Membership -Professional Engineer Ontario (PEO).
  • Experience in seismic engineering and dynamic analysis of structures is an asset.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Versatility and interest in diverse engineering projects.
  • Autonomy, initiative, and strong teamwork skills.
  • Be able to do site visits and traveling (20%).
  • Integrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Technical leadership, Project management, Business development and client relationship building

We are seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our specialized team focused on hydroelectric facilities and dam engineering. The successful candidate will participate in multidisciplinary projects with leading industry stakeholders and benefit from a flexible hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work and office presence.


This role can be based either in our Mississauga Office or Burlington office, (hybrid mode with 2 days a week at the office)


Key Responsibilities


  • Technical leadership, Project management, Business development and client relationship building

  • Technical coordination and project management across disciplines

  • Design and rehabilitation of hydroelectric stations

  • Engineering of hydraulic structures (buildings, dams, spillways, gate lifting mechanisms, intakes, etc.)

  • Structural and Stability calculations

  • Feasibility studies, preliminary designs, details designs and technical assessments

  • Dam safety reviews and risk assessments

  • Inspections of hydraulic structures and hydroelectric facilities
