Job summary

Tandem Engineering Group in Windsor, ON is seeking a Structural Design Engineer with 5–7 years of experience to support client projects at our Windsor location.

The role requires a Bachelors in Civil Engineering, proficiency with AutoCAD, and knowledge of Canadian and U.S. structural codes. Automotive industry experience and strong communication are assets; you will lead design tasks and collaborate with engineers and project managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 5–7 years of practical experience in structural engineering.
• Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office including Project.
• AutoCAD is required.
• Strong motivation with interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; multilingual ability is a plus.
• Familiar with Canadian and U.S. structural design codes and standards.
• Ability to manage and design projects with a broad overview.
• Experience with steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures.

Tandem is recruiting for a FULL POSITION as a STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience to support our client's projects in our WINDSOR, ON LOCATION.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, emphasis on structures


• 5-7 years of practical experience


• Experience in the automotive industry


• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Software including Project


• AutoCAD required


• Highly motivated, with superb interpersonal and leadership skills


• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and the ability to speak multiple languages are considered an asset


• Familiar with Canadian and American Structural Engineering design standards and codes


• Ability to think methodically, to design, plan and manage projects


• Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Experience in structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures


• Experience with Automotive and conveyor structural design projects

Proficiency in one of the following software:

• Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional


• SAP 2000


• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
