One of our clients, a busy and well-established engineering consulting firm, is currently looking to hire a Senior Structural Engineer (Buildings) in Toronto. This company works on a range of projects including commercial, municipal, residential/mixed-use, and government sector work. ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Structural Engineer or Designer, you will be involved in a variety of tasks and responsibilities, including:

• Perform structural analysis and design for projects such as municipal, residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, including existing structures.
• Client liaison and coordination with stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Assist in preparing fee proposals for structural aspects of projects.
• Manage technical staff in preparing contract drawings and documents, delegate tasks.
• Coordinate structural designs with other disciplines (Architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, landscaping).
• Provide structural engineering support during construction, attend site meetings, and conduct field reviews.
• Contribute to the development of quality standards and liaise with other office locations.

WHAT’S REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering, emphasizing Structural Analysis and Design.
• Registration as a Structural Engineer with PEO.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, including building design.
• Knowledge of North American building codes and standards, including seismic design.
• At least 8+ years of experience with commercial, residential, and civic projects (excluding primarily oil and gas or energy/industrial projects).
• Proficiency in structural engineering design software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience mentoring junior staff preferred.
• Experience with business development activities such as proposals is a plus.
