Tri Innovations seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the structural team in Calgary, providing technical leadership for project deliverables and design tasks. You will review drawings, perform calculations, and coordinate with clients and consultants to ensure compliance with codes and standards.

The role requires a degree in civil/structural engineering, P.Eng eligibility in Canada, and 10+ years of experience, including leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered with APEGA, or eligible for registration with APEGA as a P.Eng.
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience; leadership/project lead is a plus.
• Experience with structural steel design, piles, foundations, and modularization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural engineering team in developing project deliverables.
• Prepare drawings, calculations, equipment specs, datasheets, and bid evaluations.
• Maintain structural engineering work procedures and specifications.
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and prepare site observation reports.
• Attend project coordination meetings with internal/external stakeholders.
• Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating.

Senior Structural Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Leading the structural engineering team in the development of project deliverables.
• Prepare technical drawings, calculations, equipment specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
• Maintain corporate structural engineering work procedures and specifications.
• Review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.
• Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
• Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited University.
• Registered with APEGA, or registered with the provincial body as an engineer in another province in Canada, and eligible for registration with APEGA as a P.Eng.
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience. Experience as a discipline lead or project lead is an asset.
• Working knowledge of Canadian building codes and standards, relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Experience with structural analysis software S-Frame, RISA 3D, RISA Connection is an asset.
• Experience with engineering design of structural steel, steel connections, modularization, piles, concrete foundations, engineering calculations.
• Experience working with steel fabrication vendors and site construction work and responding to RFI’s in a timely fashion.
• Well organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects. Strong organizational interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada, be a resident, and residing in Calgary or be willing to relocate to Calgary, to be considered for the position.
