Job summary

Stantec in Canada is seeking a Structural Designer to join the Energy and Resources Design team. You will perform modeling, drafting and structural design tasks across diverse projects in North America and beyond, under supervision of a Senior Designer or Engineer.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers and junior designers, coaching, and ensuring quality deliverables on time and within budget. Travel to local project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Six or more years in industrial consulting or industrial environments.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
• Experience with CAD/BIM tools such as Civil 3D, Navisworks, Reality Capture, GIS.
• Graduate of Technical or College course in Design/Drafting or equivalent.
• Strong teamwork and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow Stantec Safety Culture and Health & Safety rules.
• Perform modeling, drafting and structural design tasks for a wide variety of projects.
• Complete project deliverables on budget and schedule.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams on quality design deliverables.
• Work with Engineers and Junior Designers on fit-for-purpose designs meeting client needs.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to designers as part of their development.
• Conduct QA/QC on own projects within Stantec guidelines.
• Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members.
• Travel to local project sites as needed.
