Job summary

TULLOCH Engineering in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, is seeking a Structural Designer to join our Ontario-wide team. You will design and detail structural projects for bridges, buildings, and utility-scale facilities, reporting to the Algoma Structural Manager.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in structural design, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and are willing to travel for site work. We offer hybrid work options, competitive salary and benefits, and a culture focused on safety and excellence.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Civil Engineering Technician/Technology or equivalent.
• 10+ years in a related role with at least 2 years in design/construction of structural works.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Total Station and GPS surveying experience is an asset.
• OACETT CET, C.Tech., or Arch. Tech. designation considered an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills; excellent communication.
• Health and safety commitment; able to travel for site inspections.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers in all aspects of project delivery.
• Prepare preliminary and detailed designs and drawings for structural projects.
• Perform specification writing.
• Ensure plans comply with standards and drafting requirements.
• Estimate tender quantities.
• Conduct inspection and contract administration of structural works.
• Review technical deliverables including reports and calculations.
