Job summary

AdeptAg, including JM Controls & Electric, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant (CPA Student Welcome) in Chatham, Ontario. This full-time, in-office role supports general ledger, reporting, budgeting, and month-end close with the Controller and Finance team.

You'll gain hands-on experience across multiple accounting disciplines in a growing organization, working to ensure accurate financial records and compliant processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA student enrolled or pursuing CPA designation preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, project-based, construction, or multi-entity environments considered an asset.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
• Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Analyze financial information and identify unusual variances or trends.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as required.
• Assist with inventory accounting, costing, and reconciliation activities.
• Participate in year-end audit preparation and supporting documentation.
