Job summary

Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Platform/ SRE engineer to own end‑to‑end delivery of complex projects and operate Elastic Cloud infrastructure as code. You will review production changes, mentor teammates, and continuously improve runbooks and docs to reduce on‑call load.

The role emphasizes security‑aware design, cross‑timezone collaboration, and delivering reliable, scalable systems in a distributed team.

Qualifications

5+ years in SRE, platform or infrastructure engineering with ownership of complex projects.
Proficient in Terraform; able to manage large multi‑workspace configurations.
Strong Python skills; Go knowledge is a plus; Linux system expertise.
Experience running containerized workloads in production and on‑call rotation.

Responsibilities

Own end‑to‑end delivery of moderate‑to‑high complexity projects on the roadmap.
Operate and harden Elastic Cloud infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Python, Go).
Participate in 24/7 on‑call incidents and perform RCAs to prevent repeats.
Review code/designs and provide a trusted second set of eyes for production changes.
Mentor less experienced engineers and raise risks or improvements in discussions.
Improve runbooks and operational docs to lighten on‑call load over time.
