Position Purpose: Coordinate all internship activities (including teaching integration seminars), practical training and administrative activities to provide a first-class learning program and ensure student retention and success in the Department of Criminology.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and organize administrative and academic activities related to the practicum program and propose modifications to improve practical training.
  • Design and teach theory courses related to practical training to ensure analysis of professional practices.
  • Prepare and offer information sessions, group meetings with students and supervisors, follow-up meetings and recognition activities.
  • Manage all stages of the internship preparation, matching and completion process.
  • Identify, select and evaluate internships to ensure quality according to Criminology Department criteria.
  • Train and coach supervisors and community representatives.
  • Provide training and support to students for practical training and evaluation measures.
  • Design and implement communication strategies to inform students about the internship program.
  • Collaborate with professors to promote strong links between practical training and theoretical teachings.

What you will bring:

  • Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of criminology usually acquired through graduate studies and several years of experience in the field.
  • In-depth knowledge of community, institutional and public organizations in the field of criminal justice.
  • Experience in strategic planning to manage internships.
  • Experience in designing and teaching university courses.
  • Ability to analyze and identify students' needs.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to speak in public and prepare presentations.
  • Experience in writing in both official languages.
  • Excellent bilingualism - French and English (oral and written).
