Clutch in Toronto is seeking a software engineer who will own products from discovery through delivery, partnering directly with stakeholders to understand problems, design thoughtful solutions and user experiences, and build scalable software.

You will work with AI-powered development tools, influence product direction and architecture, and ship high-impact features with a strong emphasis on reliability, maintainability, and business value in a fast-moving team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building production software that users rely on.
• Experience designing scalable applications and APIs.
• Proficiency with relational databases and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Ability to use AI to prototype solutions and accelerate development.
• Strong collaboration with stakeholders and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Own products from discovery through delivery, partnering with stakeholders.
• Design technical solutions and build scalable software with AI tools.
• Influence product direction, architecture, workflows, and UX.
• Build reliable, high-performance systems and resolve bottlenecks.
• Design APIs, database schemas, and long-term architecture.
• Continually adopt new tools and engineering practices.
• Make thoughtful technical decisions balancing speed, quality, and maintainability.
• Collaborate via design reviews and knowledge sharing while owning work.
• Improve systems and developer experience to power Clutch.
