Job summary

Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a software engineer for CNN Digital Commerce in Ottawa to design, develop and deploy enterprise-class web applications using Node.js, Vue.js, ES6+, and Python. You will work across teams to deliver customer-facing products and tooling to support growth.

You will collaborate with editorial and platform teams, write clean code, test artifacts, and mentor colleagues, while embracing modern cloud and containerized architectures in a dynamic media environment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS or higher in Computer Science, Software or related field.
• 5-10 years of software development experience focusing on application development.
• 5+ years of Node.JS, Express, Vue.JS, ES6 experience.
• Proficient in modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python using AWS services, Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
• Expert level with Fastly, AWS, Serverless/SAM, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Jenkins, Snowflake and Git.
• Deep industry experience with modern development technologies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering and platforms teams to build CNN Underscored products.
• Design and implement features to enhance user experience and performance.
• Develop tooling to support scalable growth of CNN Commerce vertical.
• Test artifacts and deploy web applications with best practices.
• Mentor teammates and promote engineering best practices.
