Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the CoCounsel Applications team in a hands-on role, building end-to-end features using React, TypeScript, and Python. You will contribute to AI-powered capabilities, define APIs, and ship high-impact, customer-facing experiences in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production web applications.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, and solid understanding of TypeScript and frontend fundamentals.
• Backend & AI skills: building APIs/services in Python; familiarity with GenAI concepts like prompt engineering, agentic system design, or LLM orchestration; MCP/A2A exposure a plus.
• Ownership: track record of taking features from design through production and making sound technical decisions.
• Collaboration & communication: able to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver full-stack features across frontend and backend systems.
• Write high-quality, accessible, and well-tested code; participate in code reviews to raise quality.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to define APIs and deliver cohesive user experiences.
• Break down features into well-scoped tasks and deliver end-to-end from development to production.
• Share knowledge through pairing and technical discussions with teammates.
