Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to drive the design and delivery of backend and platform services powering AI agent workflows. You will own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and progressive delivery in a microservices and Kubernetes-centric environment.

You will mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and collaborate with Product, Applied AI, and Infrastructure teams while maintaining reliability, performance, and cost efficiency across production systems running on AWS

Qualifications

7+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating large-scale backend systems, including leadership
Strong proficiency in Python or other backend languages with distributed systems experience
Experience with relational databases and caching/messaging technologies; API design; container orchestration

Responsibilities

Lead design, architecture, and delivery of backend and platform services powering AI agent workflows
Own and evolve cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and progressive delivery using IaC
Drive cross-functional technical initiatives with Product, Applied AI, and Infrastructure teams
Improve platform reliability, observability, and cost efficiency across Kubernetes and AI runtimes
Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across the organization
Participate in on-call rotation for production systems
