The Role at High Level:

We’re looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer – ColdFusion who doesn’t shy away from tackling hard problems and modernizing legacy systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you’ll take ownership of ColdFusion modules within our legacy payroll platform and help influence the evolution of our tech stack. You will report directly to our Director of Engineering.

What You'll Be Expected To Own:

• Feature Development: Lead development and optimization of ColdFusion-based modules; deliver functional, maintainable features with comprehensive testing and documentation.
• Service Reliability & Monitoring: Improve application performance, reliability, and scalability through proactive monitoring and refactoring.
• Database Integration: Write secure and optimized SQL queries, integrating with relational databases like SQL Server.
• Production Support & Debugging: Triage and resolve production issues with speed and accuracy, creating post-incident documentation.
• Technical Documentation: Maintain internal wikis, architecture diagrams, and clear API documentation for long-term team success.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Provide input during grooming and planning stages; assist in scoping and testing strategies.
• Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Offer architectural guidance, code reviews, and mentoring support to teammates.
• Tooling & Process Improvement: Optimize CI/CD pipelines, development environments, and automation processes related to ColdFusion projects.

What You Bring To The Table:

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack development, including cloud infrastructure deployment and management
• Expert knowledge of ColdFusion (Adobe CF/Lucee) and CFML
• Proficient in SQL and relational databases (SQL Server)
• Strong debugging and performance profiling skills
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Strong system architecture skills and a team-first mindset
• Willingness to mentor and share knowledge

• You’ve worked with AI tools to enhance developer productivity
• You’ve handled legacy modernization projects at scale
• You have experience working with cross-functional teams in an agile environment
