About the Billing team: We build and maintain billing infrastructure, including integrations with payment gateways, invoicing, and tax software, through which all our customers are billed.

StackAdapt is a Remote First company. We are open to candidates located anywhere in Canada who are willing to work in EST for this position.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, improve, and debug complex, scalable systems.
• Identify solutions to optimize bottlenecks and enhance system-wide performance.
• Keep the tech stack updated with current standards.
• Write extensible, scalable, and test-driven code.
• Participate in technical planning and architectural decisions.
• Collaborate on designing scalable, well-tested, and well-documented web architecture, including APIs and backend systems.
• Take responsibility and ownership of projects from start to finish.
• Contribute to code reviews and technical spec reviews.
• Mentor interns and junior engineers.
• Advise on technical debt consolidation to efficiently serve business needs.
• Lead by example in upholding software development best practices and conducting rigorous reviews.
• Identify performance issues and provide actionable solutions.
• Contribute significantly to delivering critical projects that bring value to our customers.
• Conduct technical interviews to attract high-performing candidates.

What You’ll Bring To The Table

• At least 5+ years of experience building high-performance web applications with outstanding UX.
• Recent experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Knowledge of full-stack technologies like React, Typescript, GraphQL, and Go is preferred.
• Experience collaborating with Product & Design teams on end-to-end product experiences.
• Experience with relational databases and key-value stores.
• Experience analyzing, benchmarking, and optimizing web application performance across the stack.
