Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Control Plane - Hosted team. You will design, code, and troubleshoot within Elastic Cloud offerings, analyzing current systems and prioritizing fixes and features.

You will collaborate across global teams, guide architectural decisions, and contribute to scalable, reliable back-end platforms using languages like Scala, Java or Go. You will work in a distributed environment with emphasis on automation and quality.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
Previous experience providing pragmatic technical leadership for a group of engineers.
Knowledge of back-end languages such as Scala, Java or Go.
Technical depth in one or more technologies relevant for SaaS (orchestration, networking, containers, etc.).
Passion for automation and quality.
Are eligible to work in DoD Impact Level 5.

Responsibilities

Guide cross-team technical designs and help create a team-wide high level architecture.
Lead best practices for development, ensuring a reliable, scalable foundation and an engaging user experience for our customers.
Contribute and lead technical plans and direction within our team and across other product teams in Elastic.
Be part of a distributed team of engineers from all across the globe.
Collaborate with other teams within Elastic. Examples include helping Support engineers in diagnosing problems or advising the Elasticsearch engineers with designing new features.
