We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience in optimizing cloud infrastructure and distributed systems at scale to join our Capacity & Cloud Economics Engineering team. Our work involves building and scaling infrastructure globally in an efficient, developer-friendly, cost-effective, resilient, performant, and secure manner, ensuring we meet our SLA commitments. Responsibilities include developing load-testing frameworks, capacity modeling, cost reduction, capacity tuning, and more.

What You'll Do

1. Own and deliver quarterly goals, lead engineers through ambiguity, and support your team throughout delivery.
2. Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics in the product development lifecycle, participating in ideation and technical decision-making.
3. Identify and advocate for project, process, technology, or business issues, leading their resolution.
4. Support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and supporting on-call efforts.
5. Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards, and sharing knowledge through writing and tech talks.
6. Develop talent by providing feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
7. Assist with right-sizing compute and data workloads to enhance availability and cost-efficiency.
8. Collaborate with infrastructure and product teams to optimize capacity and performance testing.

What We Look For

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Proven experience with highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with load testing frameworks like Locust or similar.
• Ability to define technical plans for significant features with elegant, simple, and extensible designs.
• Proficiency in making large-scale code changes safely, with tools and practices to support this.
• Ownership of personal growth, proactively seeking feedback.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with a global team.

Pay Grade - N

Equity Grade - 6

Base pay range: $150,000 - $200,000 per year, with additional benefits including equity, stipends, health coverage, and more.
