Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to automate the SDLC pipeline from testing through deployment and validation.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong Python, Pytest and modern testing methodologies.
• Experience debugging across environments (x86 vs ARM) and arch-specific issues.
• Knowledge of Debian packaging and QEMU acceleration.
• Linux fundamentals, Bash scripting, and performance tuning.
• Automation tooling experience (Jenkins, Github Actions, SaltStack).
• Understanding of SDLC, monitoring, and alerting practices.

As a Senior Software Development in Test, you will automate the SDLC pipeline from testing through deployment and validation.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:

• Investigating and troubleshooting any deployment-related issues, identifying root causes and providing recommendations for solutions in various environments.
• Developing and maintaining automated test frameworks for code changes, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests.
• Creating and maintaining test plans and test cases for microservices, ensuring they cover relevant scenarios and edge cases.
• Collaborating in integration testing with other engineering groups and suggesting improvements to various testing environments.
• Investigating requirements for safe deployment and rollback strategies, and verifying all requirements during the deployment process.
• Writing and maintaining scripts to automate platform service deployments.

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
• Have Python and Pytest knowledge along with good understanding of modern testing methodologies along with working knowledge of Perl and golang.
• Have experience debugging across environments reproducing a failing test locally on x86 vs. ARM (native or emulated), isolating whether a failure is arch-specific.
• Possess knowledge of Debian packaging and QEMU's TCG vs KVM acceleration.
• Have good Linux fundamentals, especially around performance tuning along with experience in Bash and scripting fundamentals.
• Possess experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, Github Actions, SaltStack.
• Have an understanding of modern software development life cycle processes and service level objective monitoring and alerting.

Compensation

The base salary for this position ranges from 102,500 - 184,500 CAD/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
