Job summary

IBM Software in Canada is seeking a Senior Software Developer/Architect to drive the Connect Platform on the Confluent integration stack. You will help design, build, and operate components that connect Kafka with external systems, both on‑prem and in the cloud, enabling scalable, secure data streaming.

You’ll lead a distributed team, mentor engineers, and shape the roadmap for a robust Data Streaming Platform, focusing on high availability, low latency, and operational excellence across cloud

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience and the ability to lead complex projects.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale, secure, highly available systems.
• Experience mentoring technical teams and guiding roadmaps.
• Strong cloud-native expertise, including security and networking.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead development of distributed, cloud-native data integration solutions.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of high-quality, low-latency systems.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate across stakeholders to implement roadmaps.
• Enhance platform scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Lead and coordinate on-call rotation and production incident responses.
