Job summary

Weyerhaeuser Grande Prairie Timberlands is seeking an experienced Senior Silviculture Forester to drive silviculture programs in Grande Prairie, AB. The role emphasizes data-driven leadership, contractor management, and strong collaboration with site leadership to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and long-term forest productivity.

The candidate should hold or be eligible for Alberta RPF registration, with proven experience leading teams in contractor-heavy environments.

Qualifications

• Leading silviculture programs with accountability for planning, execution, budget, regulatory compliance, and performance outcomes.
• Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or eligibility for registration in Alberta.
• Proven experience leading contractors and/or employees, with performance management.
• Strong understanding of silviculture data and information systems, including data quality management and interpretation.
• Ability to solve complex problems, prioritize competing demands, and adapt in a fast-moving operational setting.
• Strong communication skills and credibility to work with site leaders, partners, peers, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead silviculture programs from planning through execution with cost control and regulatory compliance.
• Manage contractors and/or employees to ensure safe, consistent execution and results.
• Drive a data-driven silviculture system by ensuring data quality and using insights to improve practices.
• Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, government agencies, researchers, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with site leadership and cross-functional partners to support safety, environment, and productivity.
