Job summary

The Government of Nunavut’s Transportation and Infrastructure Nunavut department seeks a Service Desk Asset Management Officer in Iqaluit. You will lead deployment preparation for workstation systems, manage assets and applications, and support staff across Nunavut.

You will mentor Help Desk personnel, oversee casual staff, and ensure hardware/software standards and licensing compliance. Knowledge of Front Range Heat, SCCM, and related tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Informatics Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an informatics workstation technical support role of comparable size and complexity to the Government of Nunavut.
• ITIL Certification.

Responsibilities

• Mentoring and training other Help Desk personnel to help increase service delivery for the GN and promote informatics technology continuity.
• Co-ordinating and overseeing the daily activities of casual staff.
• Monitoring and reporting on the receipt, configuration, installation, and standards compliance for all newly purchased equipment, software, and other informatics assets.
• Ensuring proper levels of maintenance are provided for all workstation software licensing, hardware, peripheral warranties and Help Desk system support software.
• Working daily with the following GN Help Desk application support software, Front Range Heat, Microsoft SCCM, and GN Knowledgebase.
• Performing maintenance routines on client workstations and application software.
• Ensuring the compliance of all workstations and peripheral equipment is configured to published hardware and software standards for integrity and confidentiality.
