Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Group is seeking a Senior Scheduler based in Richmond, BC to support the Canada Line transit system. You will lead scheduling with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and cross-functional coordination, reporting to the Director of Operations.

You will coordinate shifts, vacations, and holidays, work with HR and unions, and drive continuous scheduling improvements across multiple departments to ensure safe and reliable service in Vancouver, Richmond, and the airport corridor.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma/degree in business, operations, engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of workforce scheduling experience.
• Experience scheduling in 24/7, multi-shift environments.
• Proficiency with Kronos/UKG workforce systems.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Experience in a unionized workplace with bargaining rules.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (Duty & Rest Rules, hours-of-work) and related labor provisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop annual scheduling objectives, set priorities, organize workload, and mentor scheduling staff.
• Provide strategic scheduling guidance to department leaders including forecast and staffing analyses.
• Lead annual shift, vacation, and holiday bidding and ensure adequate coverage.
• Develop schedules for special projects and multi-department initiatives.
• Monitor attendance, overtime, staffing levels, and utilization; analyze trends and report.
• Maintain accurate scheduling/HR data in systems; conduct audits for integrity.
• Collaborate with HR, Labour Relations, and operations to improve scheduling tools and controls.
