404 Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital in Newmarket, Ontario is seeking a Senior Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to lead surgery and anesthesia support within our specialty team. You will work with surgeons, apply advanced anesthesia techniques, monitor complex cases, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in good standing or eligible for registration.
• Strong technical skills in IV catheter placement, patient assessment, and laboratory diagnostics.
• In-depth knowledge of veterinary pharmacology, advanced anesthesia protocols, and emergency triage.
• Positive, team-first attitude with excellent communication and a passion for continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Surgical & Anesthesia Medicine: support complex referral cases with experienced surgeons and specialists.
• Surgical & Clinical Support: assist with surgical preparation, diagnostics, sterile procedures and treatments.
• Patient Care: place catheters, administer medications, support fluid therapy and process lab samples.
• Comprehensive Client Connection: guide pet parents on post-operative care, pain management, and recovery plans.
• Team Mentorship & Growth Mindset: share knowledge, mentor veterinary assistants and newer team members.
• Medical Records: maintain accurate patient files, medical logs and inventory.
