Job summary

Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital is seeking a full‑time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Emergency team in Oakville, Ontario. You will perform assessments, anesthesia monitoring, and various diagnostic tasks to support critical care for our wildlife and companion animals.

We require completion of a Veterinary Technician program with Ontario registration eligibility, strong clinical skills, and a compassionate, team‑oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Veterinary Technician program and eligibility for registration in Ontario.
• Strong knowledge of patient care, anesthesia, pharmacology and clinical procedures.
• Proficient in venipuncture, IV catheter placement and anesthesia monitoring.
• Capable of safely handling and restraining animals during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, triage and monitor vital signs in emergency settings.
• Monitor anesthesia through induction, maintenance and recovery.
• Place catheters, collect samples, run in-house lab tests and take radiographs.
• Support surgical and emergency procedures in the OR and on the floor.
• Dispense medications and manage in-hospital treatments under supervision.
• Work overnight at week-ends as part of the schedule.
