Job summary

DOF Subsea Canada is seeking a Senior ROV Pilot Technician. Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience with work class ROV systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain ROV systems according to procedures.
  • Ensure Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment requirements are met.
  • Participate in mobilization and demobilization sessions.

Skills

Technical knowledge in computer and electronic interfacing
Experience with technical testing and troubleshooting
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team

Education

Post-secondary education in ROV, Electrical, Engineering Technology, or Mechanics

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the proper performance of all tasks assigned by the Operational ROV Supervisor during operation, maintenance, repair, and preparations of the ROV;
  • Adhere to the DOF Subsea Personal Record of Competence;
  • Ensure that all Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment requirements are implemented during tasks;
  • Participate in familiarization and debriefing sessions prior to mobilization and demobilization (if applicable);
  • Participate in projects and complete tasks as required under separate functional descriptions;
  • Familiarize and adhere to all guidance and instructions outlined in the Business Management System (BMS);
  • Perform work tasks in accordance with procedures and routines defined in the DOF Subsea Atlantic quality system and relevant project procedures, with emphasis on ROV operation and documentation;
  • Be familiar with the ROV system;
  • Operate and maintain the ROV system according to established procedures and standards.

Requirements

Key Competencies (knowledge, training/education, behaviors):

  • 5-7 years of experience with work class ROV systems;
  • Post-secondary education with a focus in:
  • ROV (Remote Operated Vehicles)
  • Electrical
  • Engineering Technology
  • Mechanics
  • Equivalent or related experience or training will be considered;
  • Knowledge of technical specifications and standards within the Oil and Gas Industry;
  • Experience with Schilling / XLX systems is an asset;
  • Technical knowledge in computer and electronic interfacing;
  • Experience with technical testing and troubleshooting;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask under pressure;
  • Strong communication skills, including reading and writing proficiency;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
