BBA Consultants is seeking a senior rock mechanics engineer to apply solid rock mechanic principles across surface and underground mining and civil construction. You will provide and manage geotechnical services while mentoring junior staff and coordinating field investigations.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of geotechnical experience, a P.Eng., and strong English and French skills to collaborate with Canadian and international clients. Travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering geology, geotechnical engineering, mining engineering or related field; postgraduate degree or relevant mine operations experience is an advantage
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
• Over 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience
• Strong understanding of rock mechanics and numerical modelling
• Experience with Rocscience and FLAC3D and other geotechnical tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsabilités

• Apply rock mechanics principles to surface and underground mining and civil construction
• Provide and manage rock mechanics and geotechnical services and oversee task execution
• Coordinate geotechnical site investigations, field activities and laboratory testing
• Review and supervise civil and geotechnical construction activities
• Conduct terrain and slope hazard assessments, mapping and reporting
• Perform slope stability, seepage and deformation analyses
• Mentor junior technical personnel and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
