Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst in Ottawa, Canada to conduct due diligence, assess credit requests, and monitor buyer portfolios. You will prepare credit assessments and present recommendations to credit authorities while sharing sector insights with internal teams and customers.

The role requires deep knowledge of credit risk management, strong analytical abilities, and the ability to liaison with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, business, finance or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience in credit risk management and international trade or related fields for Portfolio Risk Management 17.
  • 7+ years of experience in credit risk management and international trade or related fields for Portfolio Risk Management 18.
  • 9+ years of experience in credit risk management and international trade or related fields for Portfolio Risk Management 19.
  • Knowledge of credit risk management principles and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct due diligence and analysis to establish buyer and/or transaction creditworthiness and risk level.
  • Assess and evaluate requests for new credit.
  • Conduct timely surveillance and monitoring of the buyer portfolio.
  • Prepare credit assessments and present recommendations to credit authorizers.
  • Share sector and industry knowledge with Business Teams, internal partners, and customers.
  • Lead portfolio management and communicate data to committees for Senior Risk Analyst level.

Job description

  • Conduct due diligence and analysis to establish buyer and/or transaction creditworthiness and risk level
  • Assess and evaluate requests for new credit
  • Conduct timely surveillance and monitoring of the buyer portfolio
  • Analyze and comment on sector, market, and portfolio developments
  • Adhere to credit standards and ensure appropriate documentation and analysis
  • Prepare credit assessments and present recommendations to credit authorizers
  • Share sector and industry knowledge with Business Teams, internal partners, and customers
  • Learn general credit insurance underwriting practices
  • Ensure data integrity
  • Liaise with buyers, banks, information providers, and other entities on credit issues
  • Generate continuous improvement ideas and contribute to process-improvement and ad hoc projects
  • For Senior Risk Analyst level: lead portfolio management, analyze and communicate data, present to committees and stakeholders, and maintain internal and external stakeholder networks
Requirements
  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or other related disciplines
  • 5+ years of experience in credit risk management and international trade or related fields for Portfolio Risk Management 17
  • 7+ years of experience in credit risk management and international trade or related fields for Portfolio Risk Management 18
  • 9+ years of experience in credit risk management and international trade or related fields for Portfolio Risk Management 19
  • Knowledge of credit risk management principles and practices
  • Candidates must meet requisite government security screening requirements
  • Preference given to candidates able to work legally in Canada at the time of application (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents)
