Job Purpose

Intercontinental Exchange is looking to hire a senior risk analyst to join the risk department of ICE NGX, the North American clearing house for natural gas, electricity, and environmental markets at ICE. The senior risk analyst will report to the risk manager and will work closely with senior management of the business daily.

Responsibilities

1. Establish and maintain the risk management framework by following risk policies and staying up to date with regulatory and industry standards
2. Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate potential risk exposures to the clearing house
3. Monitor model performance tests and assess the appropriateness of models to demonstrate policy adherence
4. Identify areas for improvement in risk models, processes, or infrastructure and participate in designing and implementing enhancements
5. Conduct mathematical/statistical analysis to calibrate and enhance risk models
6. Collaborate on policy and methodology development with colleagues
7. Build and maintain risk management reports for ICE NGX board, risk committees, and regulators
8. Communicate with contracting parties, risk committees, and senior management
9. Conduct project work and thematic or ad-hoc market research on relevant risk topics
10. Foster a strong risk culture and be a team player
11. Train junior team members on risk processes and procedures
12. Work on strategic projects to foster revenue and business growth, including new products and infrastructure enhancements

Knowledge And Experience

1. Master’s degree in a quantitative field
2. 3+ years’ experience in a quantitative risk role (preferred)
3. Strong quantitative and analytical skills with knowledge of statistics
4. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
5. Experience in risk management, data analysis, portfolio management, or risk systems, ideally in an investment bank, hedge fund, or clearing house
6. Knowledge of financial derivatives across multiple asset classes (preferred)
7. Experience with risk models like VaR, Liquidity Risk, back testing, and stress testing
8. Excellent communication skills
9. Proficiency with SQL and Python
10. Ability to explain complex concepts to senior stakeholders
11. Ability to work independently and in teams
12. Experience with energy markets (a plus)
