Munich Re Toronto is seeking an Accountant to support North American financial reporting and reinsurance accounting. The role partners with Finance, Actuarial, Claims, Operations, and IT to deliver accurate records and insights.

You will lead premium/claims transactions, perform reconciliations, and contribute to process improvement in a hybrid Toronto office. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting, CPA track, IFRS 9/17 knowledge, and strong Excel/Oracle Fusion experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
• CPA designation or active pursuit toward obtaining one.
• Knowledge of IFRS 9 and IFRS 17.
• Strong Excel and reporting tool proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and reporting of reinsurance transactions (premiums, commissions, claims).
• Perform reconciliations, analyze variances, resolve reporting issues.
• Prepare complex profit commission calculations and client settlements.
• Maintain accounting controls for compliance and efficiency.
• Prepare management reports and financial analyses to support decisions.
• Support financial forecasting, and quarterly/ statutory reporting.
