Job summary

PartnerRe Ltd. in Toronto and Dublin seeks Reinsurance Accountants to manage broker/cedent portfolios, verify, process, and analyze accounts per treaty terms and contractual conditions.

The role reports to the Local Head of Reinsurance Accounting Non-Life and involves collaboration with brokers and cedants. A bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3+ years in reinsurance accounting are required, with strong Excel/MS Office skills. This is a future postings opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant discipline.
• At least 3 years’ experience in Reinsurance accounting field.
• Good technical and analytical skills, problem solving oriented and able to take decisions.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
• Experienced in eMessaging and the reinsurance data system SICS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify, verify, and process regular accounts, commutation accounts, cash losses and P&L calculations.
• Cedant premium and loss reserve handling, cedant statistics and LC/Pledged Securities handling.
• Monitoring and managing cash statements, confirmation letters, and broker/cedant communications.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams.
• Electronic messaging management and archiving of accounting documents.
• Perform SOX and operational controls and support quarterly closing tasks.

Job Summary

We are looking for Reinsurance Accountants in our Toronto and Dublin locations. The Reinsurance Accounting Department is responsible to handle premiums and claims accounts received from reinsurance brokers and cedents. This job ad is not for an exisiting vacancy, but is for future job opportunties at PartnerRe. Compensation details will be included in future job ads, as and when they occur

For Toronto:

This role is based in our PartnerRe Toronto office and will report to the Local Head of Reinsurance Accounting Non-Life based in Stamford.

For Dublin:

This role is based in our PartnerRe Dublin office and will report to the Local Head of Reinsurance Accounting Non-Life based in Paris.

About the Role:

Your mission will be to manage an assigned broker/cedent insurance/reinsurance facultative and treaty portfolio, which you will verify, process, monitor and analyse.

What You’ll Do:

• Identify, verify, and processregular accounts,commutation accounts, cash losses, profit & loss calculationsas well as year-end related documents against treaty terms and contractual conditions.
• Cedant premium and loss reserve handling, cedant statistic analysisand Letter of Credit & Pledged Securities handling
• Monitoring and managingof cash statements includingconfirmation lettersas well as activecommunication with brokers and cedants
• Work closely withcross-functional teams.
• Electronic messaging managementandarchiving of accountingrelevant documents.
• Performing periodicSOX- and operational controlsand assuringcorrectness of quarterly closing tasksas assigned

Qualifications:

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant discipline.CA/ARe/CPA/CFA certification is a plus.
