Job summary

Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) is seeking a Senior Advisor in Regulatory Affairs within the Legal Resources and Corporate Governance unit. The role leads development of strategic regulatory positions across topics such as gas-electric coordination, LDCs, and transmission expansion, while representing IESO in regulatory forums.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, presentation, and writing skills, and deep knowledge of power systems and regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of power systems, the electricity sector, and economic regulation.
• Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with regulatory procedures, policy design and financial evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Lead appearances and submissions for regulatory proceedings and policy initiatives in Ontario and beyond.
• Manage the IESO’s fee applications to the Ontario Energy Board and support evidence.
• Develop evidence for rate cases, leave-to-construct, distribution plans and related proceedings.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on appropriate actions and positions.
• Build relationships with interjurisdictional organizations and regulatory bodies.
