Job description

Elevate Careers, Strengthen Teams, and Shape Organizational Success

CPA Ontario is not like other organizations

We operate at a rare intersection, both regulator and membership body, responsible for upholding the integrity of the CPA designation while supporting more than 105,000 members and 19,000 students across the province. Our work sits between business and the public interest, between the evolving demands of industry and the standards that make trust possible.

Careers built here tend to look different because the work itself is different. You are not simply contributing to an organization. You are helping shape a profession that touches nearly every sector of the economy at a moment when expectations, technology, and the nature of work are all being rewritten.

About This Opportunity:

The Recruitment team is an integral part of CPA Ontario. We work across the organization, with every Business Unit to offer advisory and subject matter expertise on everything from job descriptions to hiring strategy to offer negotiations, before handing off to HR Operations for onboarding. Our focus is on providing a smooth and easy process for hiring managers and exceptional experience for our candidates.

As CPA Ontario’s Senior Recruiter, reporting to the Manager, Recruitment, you'll partner with leaders across the organization to deliver full-cycle recruitment and an exceptional hiring experience for hiring managers and candidates. This role needs someone with strong sourcing and recruiting expertise with a consultative mindset, expert relationship-building skills, and a genuine passion for connecting great people with a career they’re excited about.

If you’re passionate about talent acquisition and enjoy balancing strategy with hands-on recruiting, you'll find meaningful work and a supportive team environment here.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Leading full-cycle recruitment for a diverse portfolio of specialized and business-critical roles, from individual contributors through to Director-level positions. You’ll be expected to work closely with Hiring Managers and provide your expert opinion on the most suitable hiring strategy. You’ll then manage sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer, pre-employment verifications if needed, all the way to onboarding hand off.
  • Talent Sourcing & Pipeline Development. Sourcing is key here as the majority of roles we hire are niche or require a little something beyond the usual. You’ll leverage all possible sourcing channels and build relationships with candidates for future opportunities.
  • As a strategic partner to our hiring managers, you’ll work consultatively to build successful talent acquisition strategies.
  • You’ll work with the Recruitment, HR and Marketing & Brand teams to solidify and elevate our employee value proposition. In addition, you may be asked to represent CPA Ontario at networking events, conferences, and career fairs if needed.
  • You’re a master at analytics and reporting. You regularly track and analyze your own metrics and recognize the importance of using data and reports to help the business understand future opportunities.
  • Additional project work to help elevate the team.
To Be Successful You Need:
  • 5+ years of full cycle corporate, in-house recruitment experience. A combination of 2+ yrs corporate, in-house and agency experience would be considered
  • To be comfortable sourcing hard to find candidates and you’re up to date on the tools required to do that
  • Previous experience using an Applicant Tracking System
  • Experience driving recruitment actions to support our culture of equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Experience developing, maintaining and using recruitment reports and metrics as required
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills are essential as are interpersonal, relationship-building, and influencing skills
  • Previous stakeholder management experience, able to build relationships quickly, and able to influence and provide consultative services at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong attention to details and the ability to show judgement
  • A self-starter who is results oriented
  • Comfortable working with and through ambiguity, you’re able to understand where to be flexible within set guidelines
Why Join CPA Ontario?
  • We support your well-being through industry-leading benefits, mental health resources, savings programs, and a sustainable approach to how work gets done.
  • We are committed to inclusion as a core part of how we operate, not as an afterthought.
  • We have a hybrid working environment, with three days a week on-site, complemented by 2 days of remote working. We are intentional about that: the work we do benefits from being together. We want those days you work from home to be comfortable and offer a one-time bonus towards a home office when you start.
  • We invest in your growth through learning and professional development opportunities, stretch projects, secondments, and genuine paths for career progression.
  • We move quickly. The pace reflects the profession we serve; it can be demanding, but the work matters, and the team around you is invested in the same outcomes you have.
Salary range

The starting salary range for this position is between $82,900 - $103,700 per annum. The salary offered will be based on your qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review.
