Job summary

Excel Society in Edmonton is seeking a Recreation Therapy Assistant GM to plan and lead recreation activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities. You will gather feedback, document participation, and work with the Recreation Therapist and nursing staff to enhance resident well‑being.

The role requires a Diploma in recreation/leisure or related field, First Aid & CPR Level C, a satisfactory criminal record check, and at least 3 years in human services.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in recreation/leisure studies or related health field.
• Certification in First Aid & CPR Level C.
• Satisfactory criminal record check.
• At least 3 years' experience in Human Services.
• Understanding of Mental Health is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Implement recreation activities based on resident preferences and interests.
• Gather feedback, chart participation, and report to Manager/Supervisor.
• Ensure recreation areas are clean, safe and maintained per codes.
• Document resident participation and outcomes monthly.
• Collaborate with Recreation Therapist, team members and Nursing staff.
• Create program plans and monthly activity calendars for the facility.
