Job summary

Holy Cross Manor in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a Recreation Assistant to support planning, implementation and evaluation of recreation and leisure programs for residents. This role reports to the Recreational Therapist and requires a valid Class 4 driver’s license, First Aid/CPR, and 1–2 years of Therapeutic Recreation experience preferred.

The position is a permanent part-time (FTE 0.70) role with days/evenings, and Covenant Care emphasizes compassionate, mission-driven care and collaboration

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Class 4 driver's license.
• Ability to maintain good working relations with staff, public and outside agencies.
• Flexibility with changes in the organization and maintain a positive outlook.
• Valid/current First Aid and CPR.
• One (1) to two (2) years of Therapeutic Recreation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementation and evaluation of recreation and leisure programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and cultural needs and interests of the residents.
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to promote resident awareness and participation in programs and opportunities and support recreation & leisure programming for the residents.
• Model Covenant Care's mission, vision, and values in daily work and collaborate effectively as a professional team player.
