Job summary

AgeCare Mount Royal in Calgary is seeking a Recreation Aide to plan, coordinate and deliver engaging programs for residents. You will work with the Recreation Manager and Executive Director to create an inclusive, resident-centered environment that promotes participation, social connection and well-being.

Responsibilities include supporting assessments, documenting participation, and maintaining program notes, while building strong relationships with residents, families and the interdisciplinary

Qualifications

• Diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology, or related field required.
• Experience with seniors in recreation, health care, or community settings is an asset.
• Clear communication with residents, families and team members.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver engaging recreation programs with the Recreation Manager and Executive Director.
• Create an inclusive environment that promotes resident participation and wellbeing.
• Support assessments and evaluate engagement and program effectiveness.
• Maintain documentation such as participation records and program notes.
• Build respectful relationships with residents, families, volunteers and the team.
• Facilitate participation in programs, events, and community outings, including transport help.
• Assist with daily program prep and meal-service support as needed.
