Hitachi Rail is seeking a Telecommunications Solution Architect to design end-to-end communications for onboard, station, wayside and control-centre environments in downtown Toronto. Responsibilities include defining interfaces, network and IP considerations, and ensuring integration readiness across multiple domains.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in Telecom engineering.
• Knowledge of radio frequency allocations and measurements.
• Exposure to Passenger Information Systems technologies.
• Extensive knowledge of complex networks design (wired and wireless).
• Experience with network architecture design and switching/routing protocols.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute design, configuration, test and commissioning activities.
• Identify, analyze and manage requirements; interface with stakeholders.
• Architect and integrate telecom systems across onboard, station, wayside, and control-center domains.
• Prepare design documentation and support purchasing for wired/wireless telecom networks.
• Ensure design alignment and integration readiness across domains.
