Job summary

Hitachi Rail Limited seeks a Project System Design Specialist to lead system and signaling design for CBTC projects. You will translate customer requirements into system and subsystem specifications, run analyses, simulations, and trade-off studies to meet design goals on time and within budget.

The role includes mentoring engineers, managing work packages and budgets, and coordinating with Software, Hardware, Safety, and IVVQ to ensure safe, high‑quality designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science and 6–10 years in software-based system development.
• Senior-level URS/Urban Rail Signaling experience (3–5 years).
• Experience leading a team of technical resources.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support customer requirements compliance assessment, gap analysis, and architecture design.
• Convert customer requirements into conceptual designs and perform analyses, simulations, and trades.
• Create system, subsystem, and interface requirement specifications from customer needs.
• Lead system design activities and coordinate with Software, Hardware, Safety, and IVVQ groups to deliver high-quality designs.
• Mentor and supervise system engineers, manage work package estimates and progress.
