Job summary

Hitachi Rail in Mississauga, Ontario seeks a Sr. Construction Manager to oversee metro and light rail projects. The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on coordination on a large-scale infrastructure program.

You will lead planning, scheduling, safety, and vendor coordination; manage resources; ensure regulatory compliance; align with commissioning and handover activities. Requires 10+ years in construction management, a Bachelor’s in Engineering, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 10+ years in construction management for large infrastructure projects, rail preferred.
• Experience with signalling, telecom and power systems is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder collaboration.
• PM software proficiency; PMP or CCM is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, and execution across all project phases.
• Collaborate with engineering, contractors and stakeholders on plans.
• Monitor progress, risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage resources to optimize productivity and costs.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, codes, and safety standards.
• Oversee deployment, commissioning and handover activities.
• Communicate progress and address stakeholder concerns.
