Job summary

ONxpress Civils is seeking an experienced on-site supervisor to lead civil and rail construction activities across multiple project sites. The role includes safety leadership, schedule adherence, documentation, and coordination with subcontractors.

Applicants should have 8–10 years in supervision, Ontario OHSA knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to work field/office and potentially long hours. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years in a supervisory role in construction (civil, rail, bridges, tunnels)
• Experience interpreting Ontario OHSA and Construction Act
• Experience with engineering tools/equipment and automated systems
• Excellent MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication
• Ability to work on project schedules incl. weekends/night shifts
• Willingness to work both in field and office

Responsibilities

• Supervise all on-site activities related to construction, demolition, utility installations and heavy infrastructure
• Prepare supporting docs: bill of materials, databases, testing plans, schedules, and related contracts
• Ensure work aligns with project plans, specs, and timelines
• Keep daily records/logs per regulatory and company requirements
• Monitor progress and adjust to meet deadlines
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure staff compliance with safety standards
• Conduct regular project inspections and maintenance of systems/equipment
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for timely delivery of materials/services
• Manage on-site resources including labor, materials and equipment
• Ensure staff have proper licenses/qualifications for work
• Comply with MOL OHSA regulations and safety plans
• Implement site safety measures (JSA, pre-job meetings, etc.)
• Travel to project sites as required
