Our team is mobilizing its design and construction crews, with major works to commence in 2023. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.

The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.

What is the project?

  • A six-kilometre tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River)
  • Stations:
    • One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station
    • Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations
    • Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown.

Job Description

The Senior Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Quality Assurance Manager with implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) for the Ontario Line South project. This role ensures compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements, and industry standards, including ISO 9001:2015. The position involves conducting audits, managing non-conformances, supporting construction teams in quality-related matters, coordinating daily tasks for the QA team, and driving continuous improvement across project operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures while managing the closure of findings and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Identify and manage non-conformances, ensuring timely resolution, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation and assessment of effectiveness.
  • Provide training and guidance on quality policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist with maintenance of quality documentation, ensuring proper record-keeping and reporting.
  • Monitor and report on quality performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement within the project team.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management within heavy civil infrastructure projects.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent training.
  • Strong understanding of quality control and assurance principles, including process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Experience managing quality documentation, audits, and non-conformance reports.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in quality management and document control software.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
