Job description

WHAT MAKES US EPIC?

At the core of Epic’s success are talented, passionate people. Epic prides itself on creating a collaborative, welcoming, and creative environment. Whether it’s building award-winning games or crafting engine technology that enables others to make visually stunning interactive experiences, we’re always innovating.

Being Epic means being a part of a team that continually strives to do right by our community and users. We’re constantly innovating to raise the bar of engine and game development.

QUALITY ASSURANCE
What We Do

The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.

What You'll Do

You are a QA expert who thrives and excels at delivering results at-scale. You analyze product areas for risk, drive deep knowledge of an area’s current state by investigating new features and generating a solid set of manual and automated test cases. Your strong communication skills, ownership, and hands-on approach will continually drive accountability and generate quick feedback concerning feature quality at Epic Games. We are looking for teammates who are passionate about upstream technical testing while designing and creating automation, and test suites to raise the quality bar while advancing our team’s technical capabilities and knowledge.

In this role, you will
  • Work with QA analysts, QA management, product owners, and other developers to define acceptance criteria, identify risks, plan test coverage, and build tooling and automation to improve efficiency across the team.
  • Examine technical gaps and automation initiatives to ensure quality for Unreal Engine developer tools and build.
  • Build and drive test strategies and test plans to cover multiple features in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Use a mix of technical and manual QA skills to execute a variety of testing techniques across your product to analyze quality while discovering or troubleshooting reported defects and internal issues.
  • Report and track data quality and use that data to drive conversations around product quality and development health, supporting the dev team before, during, and after deployments.
  • Test communications between the client and backend services.
What we're looking for
  • 3+ years of professional QA experience in a software or game testing environment.
  • 1+ years of professional coding experience or Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Previous experience creating tools or automation using Python, C++, C#, or Verse.
  • Experience with root cause analysis of defects.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently collaborate on technical topics and features.
  • Technical understanding of build, game, mobile or web technologies, including automation, functional, qualitative, and performance against consistently iterative development.
  • A team player who builds strong relationships and resolves conflicts effectively to achieve quality goals with various stakeholders.

This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including WA).
