Job summary

TransRe in Canada is seeking an experienced Underwriter to manage the Property Facultative portfolio in Canada. The role is based in Toronto with a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).

You will select, price, and underwrite facultative property business, market to clients across Canada, and produce quarterly and annual reports and budgets. French language is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years as an underwriter in property facultative reinsurance.
• Proven track record of relationship building in the Canadian P&C market.
• Proven experience underwriting property business with an emphasis on property facultative.
• Experience managing an underwriting portfolio and familiarity with common property risks; ability to analyze and evaluate contract language.
• Ability to work autonomously with decision making authority.
• Written and oral fluency in French is a plus.
• Solid understanding of the cause-effect relationship of decisions and their impact on the business.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, Excel and Word skills.

Work Schedule

TransRe is supportive of an agile work schedule, which may differ based on individual roles, your local office’s practices and preferences marketplace trends, and TransRe’s business objectives. This position is located in our Toronto office and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office per week, and 2 days remote.
