This full-time role offers a hybrid or fully remote setup across Canada, with strong leadership support and opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge transfer within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of underwriting experience (senior level).
  • Experience in life, critical illness and disability underwriting.
  • Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, risk assessment and decision-making.
  • Experience in high-volume, SLA-driven environments.
  • Familiarity with underwriting tools/manuals such as RGA GUM is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and process underwriting cases for life, critical illness and disability.
  • Improve turnaround times and contribute to performance objectives (5–7 day reduction).
  • Ensure quality, consistency and compliance in underwriting decisions.
  • Collaborate with managers and internal teams on daily follow-up.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of underwriting processes and tools.
  • Support management of case volumes and adherence to SLAs.
  • Share best practices in underwriting and risk assessment.
