Reporting to the Manager, Facultative Reinsurance, the Facultative Underwriter is responsible for evaluating and managing property and casualty reinsurance risks, negotiating facultative placements, and ensuring alignment with underwriting guidelines and contractual obligations. The role applies underwriting judgment to make sound reinsurance decisions and provide guidance to internal and external interested parties on underwriting standards, policy wordings and pricing. It is an underwriting role focused on complex risk evaluation, sound decision making, and balancing collaboration with independent work.
This position offers a hybrid work environment, with a primary corporate office in Cambridge and access to a satellite office in Toronto.
The expected base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000. The actual salary will be determined based on factors including but not limited to, market conditions, relevant experience, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, qualifications, and education. Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs to earn additional compensation. Incentive compensation is tied to established business and individual performance targets.
