Job Description

Help make Toronto an even more Beautiful City. Reporting to the Chief Planner, the Senior Project Manager will oversee governance, planning, project management, financing, and implementation of the Beautiful City Special Initiative, focusing on design excellence in the public realm.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plans to promote design excellence city-wide.
• Support senior staff, including managing Steering Committees and Working Groups.
• Conduct research, analysis, and reviews to inform policies and initiatives.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, manage resources, and ensure high-quality work.
• Manage budgets and oversee project and study expenditures.
• Engage stakeholders and the public, develop communication materials, and make presentations.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and partners.
• Foster collaboration across City divisions and external organizations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive project management experience with complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Knowledge of urban design principles and public procurement practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Experience in public and private sectors is an asset.
