Job summary

Plains is seeking a Project Manager in Calgary, Alberta to lead development projects from scope through execution. You will establish scope, develop designs, cost estimates, schedules, and risk plans while coordinating with business units to optimize asset value.

Responsibilities include providing technical consultation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining project benchmarks and risk modeling. Travel may be required; a strong PM background and Canadian code knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree and P.Eng designation with APEGA registration.
• 10+ years of experience in pipeline/oil or gas processing including design, construction and PM.
• Familiarity with Canadian codes and standards for pipelines and hydrocarbon-processing facilities (CSA Z662, ABSA, CER).
• Knowledge of AACE and PMI best practices in estimating and project management.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and coordinate diverse stakeholders and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Establish project scope, develop preliminary designs, cost estimates, schedules, risk registers and execution plans.
• Provide technical consultation to project teams and Operations to reflect regulatory requirements and industry practices.
• Support business functions and strategies to optimize Plains' assets and project value.
• Ensure designs and assets comply with regulatory requirements and operating practices.
• Maintain benchmarking, contingency modeling and escalation tools; review estimates and basis of estimates.
